This means keeping your login information safe, being respectful to others, and following your school’s rules. The app is provided as-is for educational use and for free, and we cannot make any guarantee that it will always be available. An account being used improperly may be deleted without notice. Classroom Token Hub has no suspended or disabled state: an account exists, or it has been deleted along with the records that belonged to it.

For students: Your teacher chose this app for your class. If you have questions, please discuss it with your teacher. Your teacher or school is the first contact for classroom records, corrections, or removal.

For teachers: By using this app, you confirm that you are allowed to use Classroom Token Hub under all applicable laws and district/school policies that have jurisdiction over your classroom.

1. Accepting These Terms

When you create an account and use Classroom Token Hub (the “Service”), you agree to follow these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

Permission to run Classroom Token Hub in a classroom comes from the school or district, never from this platform’s privacy or security design. A teacher whose school or district prohibits the app, or prohibits storing student information outside the district network, is responsible for stopping use and deleting the class.

2. What Is Classroom Token Hub?

Classroom Token Hub is an educational web application designed to help students learn about financial literacy through a simulated classroom economy. Teachers can use it to manage virtual currency, track student participation, and create engaging lessons about money management.

3. Account Responsibilities

A class’s records belong to the teacher who provisioned it. Roster notes are visible to that teacher alone; display names appear only in the teacher’s roster and the student’s own interface. Both are encrypted in storage. A support report may be escalated to support staff, who receive only what the teacher ticks category by category — balances, the reported transaction, recent transactions, the student’s own report text, and the class name — alongside technical diagnostics. Students sign in with a username and passphrase; a PIN is used for selected classroom actions. Teachers sign in with a username and authenticator code (TOTP), or an enrolled passkey. Credentials belong to one account holder and are not shared.

Students can ask their teacher for a recovery code. Entering that code starts a time-limited reset session; no name or join code is required. Teacher recovery instead requires student confirmation from every owned class. See account recovery details.

Students and teachers protect their accounts by:

Keeping credentials private: sign-in credentials are not shared. A student hands a teacher-recovery confirmation code to their own teacher, in person, and only during a requested recovery.
Accounting for their own activity: whatever happens on an account is attributed to its holder, which is what makes keeping sign-in details secure worth the trouble.
Reporting security problems at once: a student who suspects someone else has reached their account tells their teacher; a teacher raises it through support.

4. How to Use the App Responsibly

Classroom Token Hub is offered on the understanding that students and teachers will not:

Break any law or school rule while using the app
Impersonate another person or misrepresent who they are
Attempt to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the app or with other people's accounts
Reach for parts of the system their role does not grant them

Classroom content and support reports should carry no unnecessary personal information, and exports or shared records follow the school’s own rules.

5. Ownership and How You Can Use It

Classroom Token Hub is created by Timothy Chang. Its source code is available under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0 (opens in a new tab).

The license governs permitted use, modification, and distribution, including its provisions for educational institutions. Keep the required license and notices when distributing copies. Read the full license before modifying, redistributing, or operating your own deployment.

6. Account Termination

Teachers can delete their accounts or classes. Deleting the last student in a class also deletes that class; deleting the teacher’s final class deletes the teacher account. Inactive teacher accounts are deleted after 180 days without sign-in, or 30 days after creation if never signed in. These application deletions have no undelete option. In very rare cases, we may need to terminate any accounts that could disrupt the normal operation of Classroom Token Hub. These actions may be taken without prior notice and are irreversible. Here are some potential reasons that could result in account termination:

Are used inappropriately or to harm others
Pose security or safety concerns

7. No Warranties

The services provided by Classroom Token Hub were designed to be reliable and useful. However, Classroom Token Hub cannot make any claims or guarantees that it will always be online and available. The app is provided "as is" and "as available." Maintenance and updates may occur without prior notice in case of urgent issues.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Timothy Chang and anyone involved in creating or maintaining Classroom Token Hub cannot be held responsible for lost data, profits, opportunities, or issues outside our control.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may need to update these terms from time to time without explicit notice. Please review this page periodically and take note of any changes and their effective dates.

For help using Classroom Token Hub, use the in-app support system whenever possible. It provides technical information that can help us investigate the problem without identifying you.
