CLASSROOM
TOKEN
HUB

Welcome Back.

We are putting up final touches for v2.0

We are back, better than before

Classroom Token Hub was originally developed in 2024 as a personal project to manage a classroom economy. While other platforms exist, we could not find one that offered all the features we needed along with the transparency we wanted for our students. We also found that many platforms designed their interfaces to be either too childish or too sterile.

We started with a simple question: How can we design a classroom economy system that respects teacher agency, follows clear and explicit rules, provides meaningful guidance, and protects user privacy?

After almost three months of architectural rewrite, we have answered that question with Classroom Token Hub v2.0.

What's happening now?

Version 2.0 is now in final testing phase and quality assurance audits to ensure all teachers and students can experience what Classroom Token Hub has to offer fully. Here's what you should know about v2.0 launch.

  • New System, New Account

Because our new system is incompatible with v1 data, we have deleted the old database along with all the information it contained. This means you will need to create a new account for v2.0.

  • New Support Email Address

During v1, the only way to report issues is through the in app ticket system after sign in. Now, you may report issues that occurred before signing in to support@classroomtokenhub.com

  • New Status Page

We have built a custom status page with teachers and students in mind. Instead of just colorful bars with vaguely explained percentages, our new status page shows the features and their statuses. When an incident occurs, you can also track our recovery progress.

Stay tuned, we are almost done.

We always knew being a solo developer while working full time as a teacher is challenging. For the past two months, we encountered many setbacks as well discovery layers upon layers of scaffolds that miraculously held v1.10 up. It was then we realized just how lucky we are to come so close to catastrophe yet never actually experience it. That's why we have chosen to rewrite the whole app.

The rewrite was immensely difficult and there are times when the easier option was to patch the issue with a compatibility bridge and move on. However, our stubborness pushed us to establish strict development practices and review processes to make sure we are not operating on will power alone. As a classroom teacher, software that is good enough is not enough to ship when other teachers and students depend on it. Especially when the developer is also an end user. Suddenly, an error screen on a Monday morning before first period starts is no longer a test case. It is an emergency.

When you open up v2.0 for the first time, you will notice some minor changes to the interface. However, you will find these changes to improve your experiences in a subtle yet profound way. We designed v2.0 to be familiar and intuitive so you and your students can focus on teaching and learning.

We cannot wait to share v2.0 with you. We built Classroom Token Hub to be your classroom economy system, reimagined.
