On July 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM PDT, Version 1 of Classroom Token Hub Became History
Classroom Token Hub started off as a personal project that slowly grew in scope. It was created out of the frustration of one single classroom teacher who cannot find a classroom economy tool that actually works in the classroom. Before we knew it, it had grown into something bigger.
In November 2025, Classroom Token Hub was a monolith meant for a single teacher with seven classes. It was small but has most of the essential features. So we asked: What if more than one teacher can use it?
In January 2026, Classroom Token Hub was officially launched with real student users with curious minds and lots of time. What followed was a hectic sprint to fix one major bug after another. We knew building a software isn't easy, but reality sets the bar higher than what we have imagined. So we asked: What if we can define rules that can be enforced to prevent the app from crashing?
In March 2026, Classroom Token Hub entered into a stable maintenance phase. We designed comprehensive support documentation that makes it easier for teachers to troubleshoot issues without technical assistance. We have also designed a set of invariants that the app must follow. There were fewer alarm bells, but we could see the system accumulating layers of fixes, patches, and workarounds. So we asked: What if we can design the architecture so only one valid path is allowed per feature?
In April 2026, we found the answer to that question. It is not another patch, but a complete rewrite of the underlying architecture.
This is Classroom Token Hub, Version 2.0
What this means now
-
What to expect
- Classroom Token Hub is no longer accessible.
- Classroom Token Hub v2.0 will launch August 2026.
- You do not have to do anything at this moment.
-
Impact on your data
- Your exisiting account and data have been deleted.
- Any linked student accounts have also been deleted.
- You will create a new account once v2.0 is available.
Version 2.0: Familiar Interfaces with Stronger Foundation
-
No Relearning Needed
v2.0 will look and feel just like the previous version with minor improvements to make the app clearer, faster, and more helpful.
-
Even Less Data Collected
We have designed the previous version to collect date of birth and student names for claim and display. v2.0 push that even further to operate solely on names.

You are in the know
Classroom Token Hub always viewed teacher as the sole authority in the classroom. No changes to your classroom settings can be done without direct confirmation from you.
In retrospect, and in prospect.
During the short run of Version 1, more than 200 students participated on the platform and surfaced insights, assumptions, and hidden violations that would not have been found without them. Many features and stabilizing mechanisms were developed based on their feedback and informal adversarial testing.
After 1000+ commits and 500+ deployments, Classroom Token Hub has become a full-fledged classroom economy system that is unique, and perhaps first of its kind, in the market. But our core principle remains the same: provide a free and open platform for teachers to run their classroom economies with privacy, invariants, and observability intact.
Thank you for your support. This platform became better because of its users. We cannot wait to share the next evolution of Classroom Token Hub with you.
